Wiggins Yard Bulls — built for your needs

Wiggins Yard Bulls — built for your needs

We design and manufacture the Yard Bull LoPRO for each customer’s unique environment and needs. Unlike assembly-line lifts, Wiggins lifts are customized for you.

Our lifts have the lowest center of gravity and the highest tip factor in the industry, setting the standard for safety and handling. With the lowest counter-weight in the industry, rear visibility is dramatically improved, increasing customer and employee safety while protecting other property from damage. The innovative tilt-cab design of the operator console and engine compartment allows easy access at eye level to the entire power train when servicing is needed.

Finally, the dramatically lower operator console and an AirRide seat improves operator convenience and comfort.

As for performance, the new state of the art IQAN™ System with its adjustable monitor keeps the operator informed with real-time information about engine performance and status. Our Auto-Lube system minimizes downtime by automatically lubricating key components—mast and carriage bearings, tilt cylinders, steer axles—to ensure smooth operation while saving money. And our oil-purification system reduces costly and time-consuming oil changes. With proper maintenance, the Yard Bull LoPR0 can operate as long as one year without having to change the oil.

The Yard Bull LoPro is built using the latest materials, including a stainless steel-coated steer column and critical-area components, as well as zinc-based coatings to prevent rust and corrosion on the mast and chassis.

A 1977 Wiggins 6K still running strong after 42 years.

A 1977 Wiggins lift still running strong after 42 years!

One of our engineers, Chase, recently came across an old Wiggins 6K Rough Terrain forklift—still being used every day. This classic beauty was spotted at a building supply company in valle La Mision in Baja California. When Chase asked them about it, they say they use it every day and it’s still going strong. “We love it!”

If you look closely at the info plate, you’ll see the serial number “775931.” The first two numbers denote the year. That’s right—1977! Forty-two years old and still being used every day.

Art, our service managers, says that he likely worked on it because he was on the assembly line back then.

We are proud of the durability and longevity of our forklifts—and always have been. Chase summed it up perfectly:

“I feel really fortunate to be able to do the work I do and I am really proud of the machines we build, but it is something else entirely to be part of the Wiggins Lift legacy.”

Wiggins Lift Cofounder Hattie America Wiggins Passes Away

We are sad to announce that. Hattie America Wiggins passed away at the age of 98 on November 22, 2018, at her home in Oxnard, California. She and her husband, Melvin Wiggins, founded Wiggins Lift Co., Inc. in 1960. Mel passed away on November 24, 1989.

Hattie was born on October 14, 1920, in Ada, Oklahoma. She married Melvin Wiggins in 1935. They lived in Oklahoma and Texas before following the Great Migration to California. After living in Newhall, Hawthorne, and Ojai, they settled in Oxnard and began Wiggins Lift Co., Inc., a heavy machinery manufacturing company, making forklifts for the agricultural industry. Wiggins Lift grew to provide innovative and customized forklifts to the marine, agriculture, military, yard, and mining industries. Mel passed away in 1989, and Hattie continued working at the company every day until this year.

She is survived by a son, Michael and his wife, Nancy; a daughter Darleen, and her husband, Paul. She has four grandchildren (Michele, Dana, Melissa, Michael) and eight great-grand-grandchildren (Micah, Cayman, Alexa, Maya, Grayson, Cody, Kennedy, Holland).

A memorial service will be held at the Ventura Church of Christ on Wednesday at 12:30 pm, followed by a burial at Ivy Lawn in Ventura. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the John Clayton’s Does God Exist program.
